After a 30 year career in IT, I decided it was time for a change. I've always loved working with my hands, as a boy my father and I used to make model aircraft together. In 2005 I built a workshop at my home in Swindon and although it was well equipped it was to coin a phrase 'compact and bijou'. So making furniture was out! I started making pens as a hobby and was giving them away to friends and family. People kept saying to me 'you really should start selling these' so the decision was made. I spent a good year getting the quality up to my high standards and so Simon Webb - Artisan was born. One of the first pens I produced in quantity was from a 300 year old walnut tree that blew down in a storm at Lydiard Park, 5 minutes from where I live.

I sell mainly at the amazing Bath Artisan Market and I really love meeting customers, talking about my work and telling the stories behind some of the woods I use.

My goal is to create beautiful, desirable and functional objects destined to be new family heirlooms.
